Here are a few examples of symptoms employees may face in an organization:
-Emotional Exhaustion: "I just don't have the energy." -Fatigue: "I can't stay awake another minute." -Frustration: "UGH, not this again!" -Feeling Worthless: "I know I'm going to get fired, I am not good enough at this." -Lack of motivation: "I don't feel like completing this, it is too much work." |
Depersonalization
In an organization, a person may start to feel like he or she has lost their identity and who they are. The thoughts that go through their mind seem unreal and their opinions of the people around them are lowered. Through depersonalization a person can face a higher amount of worry and anxiety.
Social burnout coping skills:
Emotional Support: is when a co-worker comforts an employee experiencing burnout by caring and checking in on them while staying positive.
Informational Support: Consists of clarifying tasks that the employee needs to get done. This can be done by suggesting new ideas to deal with burnout such as exercising or offering to take them out.
Instrumental Support: Is when a co-worker helps the employee dealing with burnout by working with them to finish a project or task.
